Worship at St Andrew's and St George's
Holy Communion
Sunday 9 – 9.30am
An opportunity to be peaceful with God alongside
fellow Christians. We gather around the table to share bread
and wine as Jesus instructed. This is a simple said service
in the early morning peace.
All Age Worship
Sunday 9.45 – 10.45am
A service where children are especially
at home - and adults too. A short but lively service, with
modern songs and old favourites from the hymn book. Often
our band plays,
and sometimes we act a short play. Then, according to age,
children and adults divide into small groups for play and
learning together about Jesus, God and Christian life. At
the end, we share tea, coffee, juice and biscuits. more...
Morning Worship
Sunday 11am – 12 noon
A service in the traditional style for everyone,
combining words and music.
It brings together the timeless elements of formal worship
– bible readings, hymns, congregational responses, prayers,
organ music, the sharing of the peace and a sermon. Tea, coffee,
and biscuits are served at the end of the service.
Sometimes for special occasions or festivals
we combine our 9.45am and 11am services at 10.30am. Please
see our Diary Page
for details.
Communion at St Andrew's and St
George's
In addition to the weekly Holy Communion
at 9am, we also celebrate Communion on the last Sunday of
each month at the 11am service and quarterly on the last Sunday
of January, Easter Day, the last Sunday of June and of October
at the 9.45am service. At all of these services, members of
all branches of Christ’s church are welcome at the Lord’s
table.
Baptism at St Andrew's and St George's
A baptism is a very special event, welcoming
a new member into the wider Christian family. It is usually
part of a Sunday service, so that the congregation can join
with family to celebrate. Contact
us if you would like to know more.
After our services
Tea, coffee, juice and biscuits are
served in the Undercroft after the 9.45am and 11am services.
Visitors are especially welcome. On the first Sunday of each
month from about 12 noon we hold a Fellowship Lunch, a chance
for everyone to share a simple meal of soup, bread and cheese
and home baking and to catch up with friends. A small fee
is charged for lunch. Proceeds go to local charities.
