Activities for everyone
Whether your talents are in making music
or in making friends, in teaching or in listening, all these
and more find a place at St Andrew's and St George's Church.
Major projects, such as our Christian
Aid Book Sale and St Andrew's and St George's at Festival
Time, involve our members and friends of all ages. Social
events bring the congregation together too - Christmas supper,
Easter breakfast and a summer outing.
Children at St Andrew’s and
St George’s
Our children enjoy All-Age Worship on Sunday
mornings, when there are groups for all ages, as well
as for adults. They also help to sell Traidcraft
products after Sunday worship. The display material in one
of our noticeboards on George Street is designed by our youngest
members.
Uniformed organizations
Scouts,
Cubs and Beavers for boys of all ages, and Guides
and Brownies for girls, meet regularly at St Andrew's
and St George's, supported by our congregation.
YACS
YACs – Young
Active Christians – is for the 12 to 16 age
group, both from St Andrew's and St George's and from Stockbridge
Parish Church. They meet on Sunday evenings to explore Christian
service in many forms, including plenty of social activity.
Musicians
Musical? You might like to sing in one of
our choirs, join our Bellringers
or play in our band.
Crofters
Crofters are volunteers who help to run
the Undercroft
Café. They take turns to prepare and serve teas and
coffees and lunches from Monday to Friday. Many are very talented
bakers. If you ask nicely they might be willing to share a
recipe or two.
Bannermakers
Our Bannermakers design and create banners
for hanging throughout the church – and enjoy coffee
and socialising in the process.
The Guild
Our Guild
meets fortnightly on Tuesdays to keep up-to-date with service
and outreach projects throughout the world.
